Set on the rocky shoreline of Loch Erisort, with its crystal clear waters to the North and the rugged outlines of the Harris hills to the south. The hostel at Ravenspoint offers accommodation in a spectacular location.
In this unspoilt area of the Highland wilderness, visitors can enjoy comfortable facilities and the opportunity to discover an area of outstanding natural beauty. The recently renovated schoolhouse is tucked away in a quiet village far from the pressures of every day life. Exploring the hidden treasures of South Lochs is a rewarding part of your stay at the Hostel.
Our many visitors come here to paint, walk, and watch the wild life, fish and cycle. Many comb the rocky shorelines or walk the moor land, hiking to long deserted villages or simply just relax as the unique landscape unfolds before them. Buzzards, golden eagles, merlins and sparrow hawks are among the birds frequently seen in the area. An abundance of sea life surrounds the shore including otters, seals and porpoise and deer are often seen grazing the moor land alongside the island sheep. Keen anglers will enjoy a profusion of local lochs abundant with trout or you may wish to try sea fishing for sport and arrangements can be made locally for boat hire. If you are searching for a peaceful retreat surrounded by wildlife, seabirds and birds of prey, this is the place for you.
