A house has been destroyed by fire in Lochs, the second incident of its kind to happen this month. The house at Laxay was completely gutted the fire. The house belonged to Murdo Ferguson and his wife Mairi. Neither Murdo or Mairi, or any of their four young children were home when the fire broke out at lunchtime on Thursday. Fire crews were quick to arrive on the scene, but such was the extent of the damage, nothing could be done to save the house. Only three weeks ago the Macintyre in nearby Balallan lost their new home, after it too was destroyed by fire. |
