South Lochs man receives MBE Donnie Morrison from Habost received his MBE from Prince Charles at a ceremony in Buckingham Palace in November. Donnie received his MBE in recognition of the 'tremendous work' he has done in the Western Isles within the ITC sector.
Mr Morrison is employed by Western Isles Enterprise as Senior Executive, Global Connections. Mr Morrison commented: "It was a lovely day and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was quite an interesting experience. ![]() Donnie and Anne Mr Morrison was born in Gravir and educated at the Nicolson Institute and Lews Castle College before taking up a job in electronics in Glasgow. Mr Morrison returned to the island with his wife Anne, where he managed the Western Isles ICT Advisory Service based in Habost, Lochs. The service brought the first teleworking contracts to Uist and Barra in 1994.
Donnie, who has settled in Habost with his New Zealand-born wife, Anne, is now part of the Global Connections Team at Western Isles Enterprise, focusing on bringing new opportunities into the Western Isles.
